Enable layers for a range

  1. Highlight the range of cells for which you wish to enable the layer capability.
  2. From the ribbon, click on the Enable Layers icon.

  3. Make adjustments to the dialog box (if required) and click on the Create button.

    Name
    Identifies this set of layers within your workbook. While the system will provide an automatic name, you can change this to meet your needs.
    First layer
    The existing data will be assigned the layer name “Original Layer”. In the First layer field, enter a name to describe a variant of the data that you wish to define. The system will provide an automatic name, which you can replace.
    Comment
    Use the Comment field to add any additional descripive text concerning this range of cells.
    Refers to
    Contains a reference to the area of data that you highlighted. Although you can make a change here, it is recommended you accept the value provided.
